Writing teacher. Is that teacher of writing or one who writes? Both in fact.
And as a writer and writing teacher, I'm delighted to see the resurrection of McMath's Scratching Post newspaper. We had a good run, distributing paper newspapers throughout the school and even managing to win a Pacific Press "Newspapers in Education" contest a few years back. Still, in the end, we found that the publishing technology was too difficult to manage.
What a difference that 3 years makes. Now, in its new format as a blog, our school newspaper lives on. And there is a school bursting with young writers rearing to share their writing. I hope, in fact, this ends up being one of my last posts on this site. We have two student editors lined up to take over and a Writing 12 class ready to share their fresh ideas.
